The turbocharger is actually an air compressor, which increases the intake by compressing air. It uses the inertial impulse of the exhaust gas discharged by the engine to drive the turbine in the turbine chamber, and the turbine drives the coaxial impeller, which presses the air sent by the air filter pipe to pressurize it into the cylinder. When the engine speed increases, the exhaust gas discharge speed increases synchronously with the turbine speed, and the impeller compresses more air into the cylinder. The increase of air pressure and density can burn more fuel. By increasing the fuel quantity and adjusting the engine speed, the output power of the engine can be increased.
Product structure principle
Turbocharger is mainly composed of pump wheel and turbine, of course, there are other control elements. The pump wheel and the turbine are connected by a shaft, that is, the rotor. The exhaust gas discharged by the engine drives the pump wheel. The pump wheel drives the turbine to rotate. After the turbine rotates, it pressurizes the intake system. Turbochargers generally use full floating bearings, which are lubricated by oil and cooled by coolant. In view of a series of problems in the use of turbocharger in gasoline engine, engineers have made targeted improvements one by one, so that gasoline engine can also use exhaust turbocharger.
Product structure and function
Intercooler, which is installed between the turbocharger outlet and the intake pipe to cool the air entering the cylinder. The intercooler is like a radiator, which is cooled by wind or water. The heat of the air escapes into the atmosphere through cooling. According to the test, the intercooler with good performance can not only keep the compression ratio of the engine at a certain value without deflagration, but also reduce the temperature, increase the intake pressure and further improve the effective power of the engine.
Impeller, due to the wide speed range of gasoline engine and large change of air flow, the shape of the compression impeller of turbocharger is a complex three-dimensional curved ultra-thin wall impeller, which generally has 12 ~ 30 leaves arranged in a radial curve, and the thickness of the blades is less than 0.5mm. It is made of aluminum by special casting method. The quality of blade shape directly affects the performance of turbocharged engine.
The function of deflagration sensor is that when deflagration occurs, the sensor feels abnormal vibration and will immediately feed back the information to the engine ECU (electronic control unit) control system to slightly delay the ignition timing, and then restore the normal ignition timing when deflagration does not occur.
